We are seeking a well-qualified, passionate Teacher of English to join our successful and ambitious department. This is a full time, permanent position, which would suit an NQT or an experienced colleague. St Ivo Academy is one of the largest academies in Cambridgeshire. Awarded ‘Good’ by Ofsted across all areas in our summer 2016 inspection, our academy is simply a great community in which to work and thrive.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic individual who will engage, challenge and motivate our students. In return, we will offer you the chance to join a strong and experienced team, enabling you to develop your own skills and enhance your career development through a wealth of CPD opportunities. A comprehensive induction and support package is available for all new staff.
English at St Ivo sees consistently good levels of achievement at all key stages. There is also a large uptake of our English Literature course at A-Level, one of the most popular courses in the Sixth Form, where results are again well above the national average. Our departmental staff are all provided with the opportunity to teach across the full age and ability range.
Our academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment to this post would be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory medical and employment references.
