What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher who can join our successful department, teaching English to Year 7 to 11 students of all abilities.

At The County High School, Leftwich, there is a strong tradition of high-quality induction and continuing professional development so the post can be adapted to suit a new or existing Teacher of English. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher who will inspire and motivate students and colleagues to succeed at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

What the school offers its staff

The English Department consists of 10 members of staff, each with a range of responsibilities to support the learning and progress of all students. They represent a rich blend of age, experience and particular areas of interest, who work well together as a team. The department has worked closely with a range of trainee and Newly Qualified Teachers for many years, providing guidance and support to teachers at all stages of their career.

The English Department take a collaborative approach to resourcing for all units in Key Stage 3 and 4. Responsibility for creating schemes of learning is shared across all members of the team, ensuring that staff have access to a wide range of lessons and are fully supported in their delivery of the entire curriculum. KS3 and KS4 specifications are planned to an excellent standard, to ensure all students receive the same learning opportunities, and all staff are consistent in their delivery of English Language and Literature units.
