Job description

We seek to appoint a qualified English teacher with experience teaching across key stages 3 and 4 including GCSE. You may come from either a mainstream or specialist/alternative provision, and are confident to deliver high quality teaching and learning within the AP setting. As an experienced English teacher working with vulnerable students, you will be able to impact significantly on their personal growth and well-being and go beyond teaching your subjects. This is an exciting and rewarding challenge for a dynamic individual to contribute to teaching across the academy.
The ability to work independently and with initiative is essential, as are the skills required to be a successful team player in a fast-paced environment. A positive outlook, and the ability to work under pressure with an appreciation of confidentiality is very important.

Essential educational requirements

Good honours degree in relevant subject

Essential qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status (or currently an ITT/GTP trainee)

Essential skills and experience

•Very good classroom practitioner
•Ability to devise new resources to facilitate student learning.
•Knowledge and experience of intervention strategies
•Ability to set high expectations in the classroom.
•Knowledge of KS3/KS4 curriculum and assessment.
•Knowledge and understanding regarding Safeguarding, Child Protection and Prevent.

Either:
•Successful placement(s), teaching at KS3/4 (applicants currently in training)
or:
•Successful record of teaching including very good exam results at one or more of KS3/KS4 (applicants who already have gained QTS)
