We are seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher of English who shares the desire to enrich the lives of all students through the study of our subject, and to enable the pupils under our care to achieve the potential we can see in them. Your commitment to education, together with your passion for English, will enable you to inspire and motivate students across the age and ability range. You will join a dynamic and collaborative team of English specialists, who welcome forward thinking initiatives and offer advice, support and professional development opportunities in a friendly, positive and creative environment.
English is a highly successful and popular subject in the College with a large uptake in both English Language and English Literature at Advanced Level. English is delivered in specialist accommodation comprising a suite of ten dedicated classrooms at the Thurston Campus and two dedicated classrooms at the Beyton Campus, each of which is equipped with audio visual equipment. Results in English are consistently high. In 2019, Progress 8 in GCSE English was +0.3 and the ALPS value added grade was again grade 3 (excellent) for both Language and Literature. At Advanced Level in 2019, English Literature achieved an ALPS grade 4 (very good) and English Language an ALPS grade 2 (outstanding).
We welcome applications from experienced and early careers teachers.
