What skills and experience we're looking for
Shaftesbury High School follows a Secondary timetable model; we are looking to recruit a teacher of English to work from Year 7 to Sixth Form. We are recruiting a teacher of English who will:
provide learning that will make a lasting change to our students.
Actively engage with students as learners and promote their engagement in learning.
Promote a lifelong love of reading.
Prepare students to gain recognised qualifications e.g. AQA Certificates and Functional Skills examinations.
Actively value planning and leading enrichment trips locally and further afield.
Our English curriculum is ambitious and engaging, with students performing well in examinations. Our English curriculum has a real purpose in preparing our students for employability and life.Our curriculum offers students to build their functional skills. We want our students to be able to access future opportunities and participate fully in the school community and the wider community out of school.
