What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Is a confident classroom practitioner with an understanding of good teaching and how children learn with experience of teaching Ethical Studies
  • Is able to evidence good teaching and learning in current role
  • Is committed to the safeguarding of children
  • Has a degree or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrates high level of professionalism at all times and is a role model for others
  • Is able to communicate effectively and positively with all stakeholders
  • Is enthusiastic for Ethical Studies and for the teaching of Ethical Studies through a variety of means
  • Is able to each Ethical Studies to at least GCSE level and an understanding of current developments in the National Curriculum regarding Ethical Studies
  • Is committed to the sider aspects of school life including extra-curricular activities eg after school sports clubs
  • Is committed to working as a member of a dynamic Humanities team
  • Is able to help deliver high quality schemes of learning incorporating the use of thinking skills
  • Is willing to undertake further, relevant training and to pass those skills on to other members of staff, as appropriate
  • Is committed to obtaining the highest standards of achievement, and a belief that enjoyable learning is the most effective learning
  • Is committed to the Academies’ strategic commitment, purpose and intent
