Further details about the role
- Westminster Academy offers Food Technology across KS3 and KS4. At KS3 we integrate the National Curriculum in lessons and teach a wide variety of cuisines, skills and dishes with a focus on healthy eating and living. The WJEC Eduqas GCSE in Food is the course delivered at KS4, giving students the opportunity to develop practical skills in Food Technology as well as safe food practices, hygiene and food science. The Food department achieved pleasing results in 2022 with a pass rate of 80% at KS4. Students have continued to achieve impressive outcomes during the pandemic, thanks to the success of our remote learning provision. Our Food extra-curricular clubs are extremely popular, and our young chefs enjoy collaborating with Dance, Drama, Art and Music students to contribute to showcases and musicals.
