Teacher of Food job summary
The Health Faculty are seeking to appoint a talented teacher of food to join our dedicated, supportive team. Our vision is for all students to understand how to lead and sustain healthy lifestyles through physical activity and nutritional choices. We believe that every child should cook, so that students leave the Academy being able to live healthy lives. Food technology is compulsory part of our curriculum for all students at KS3. We invested £250 000 in a brand new Food room, which has excellent facilities and shows just how passionate we are about our Food curriculum. There is a dedicated Food technician that works within the Health Faculty to ensure high quality lessons are delivered. Extra-curricular opportunities are a huge part of our Faculty vision and we actively welcome applicants who are keen to offer our students awe and wonder opportunities outside the curriculum. Our curriculum enables our students to access engaging, informative and thought-provoking lessons through a variety of delivery methods and experiences to interest and inspire our learners. We firmly believe that for students to be successful citizens, they must be healthy in body and mind and this starts by understanding the value of leading a healthy lifestyle. We believe that all students should learn how to cook healthy, budget meals before they leave school to enable them to lead successful lives. The successful candidate will be a passionate and inspirational teacher with a real desire to build resilience in their students and improve teaching and learning. Upholding our high standards and a commitment to achieving excellent outcomes for our students is essential. To allow teachers to do this effectively, we offer generous levels of PPA , which allows our team to collaborate and move the faculty forward at pace while maintaining work life balance. We particularly welcome applications from newly qualified teachers or main scale teachers with a thirst for progression. Our curriculum engages students of all abilities. We strive to create a love of learning and we are committed to developing the holistic child. Our curriculum incorporates careers and real- life problems and addresses the needs of all our students across a range of abilities. This is a permanent role
