What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to teach and develop Design & Technology with a Food & Nutrition focus at KS4 and KS5

  • Be able / willing to explore the team teaching of Food Science at KS5

  • Be able / willing to teach across Design & Technology at KS3 but with a focus on Food & Nutrition

  • Have the capacity to raise achievement through motivating and inspiring students

  • Have the experience, track-record and skills for the post applied for

  • Be committed to delivering ‘quality first teaching’

  • A team player, who can work both collegiately, collaboratively and independently, on developing a coherent, unified and aspirational D&T curriculum.

  • A pro-active, problem-solving approach, with enthusiasm, resilience and humour.

We are looking to employ a talented, ambitious teacher of Food and Nutrition to join our successful 11-18 mixed comprehensive high school; a school committed to delivering high quality, innovative learning experiences for its students; a school where D&T results are consistently high at both GCSE and A Level.

Sir John Leman High School, situated in the historic market town of Beccles, Suffolk, on the edge of the Norfolk Broads, is a mixed comprehensive secondary school and sixth form. The pupil roll is around 1,400, with some 160 of these students moving on to the school’s sixth form.
