Teacher of Food & Nutrititon job summary

We are a unique, small, rural 11-16 academy in the beautiful setting of North-West Worcestershire.   Our pupils are happy, well behaved and proud of their school.   The academy has a strong vein of moral purpose where the child is at the heart of all we do. We invest in our pupils and our staff to ensure all are supported to be the best they can be.  

The post sits within the Vocational Faculty consisting of Resistant Materials (Design Technology), Art, Food and Nutrition and PE.   The team are experienced, collaborative and passionate about providing the best possible provision for the children at Tenbury High.  

The faculty is committed to delivering a curriculum in which practical and creative learning sits at the heart of lesson planning.  The THOA Food and Nutrition curriculum is designed to encourage lifelong passion for food and cooking. It is vital that pupils develop a sound knowledge of the effects of diet on health. Pupils are made aware of nutrients and how they contribute to our diet. They learn about the impact that diet has on health.  Pupils are taught practical skills that will enable them to use independently the skills to feed themselves and nourish their family in a real-life context

The postholder will be able to teach Food and Nutrition across both key stages.
