The Food Department at Altrincham College

The Food Department in school currently consists of three members of staff, supported by one Food Technician. Unlike the arrangement in many other schools, the Food Department at Altrincham College is independent and does not work within a KS3 Technology carousel. All KS3 students have 2 lessons of food per fortnight, all year round. At KS4 the GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition course is extremely popular with 2 groups running in both Years 10 and 11. This September the Level 1/2 Hospitality & Catering course is also being introduced at Year 10. Food is an extremely popular subject choice at KS4 and consistently achieves excellent results.
