Ashton Park School is looking for a full time Food teacher to join our DT Team.
DT is taught in a rotation of Food, Resistant Materials and Textiles at Ashton Park at KS3. At KS4 we teach the AQA Food GCSE. We are looking for a teacher to work alongside three other colleagues in our team (currently one food teacher and two resistant materials teachers).
This is a really exciting time to join us. We have been working hard on developing our curriculum in both food and resistant materials. The food curriculum aims to inspire students to be inquisitive, creative and confident cooks. We have challenging and clear schemes of learning that are forward thinking and relevant to our community here in South Bristol. These new units have increased opportunities for our students to practice their skills cooking a wide range of international dishes (some of which you can see in the photo below). We have high expectations of our young cooks and they are meeting these demands in the delicious and exciting food they produce.
This curriculum development has resulted in increased numbers at GCSE. We are proud that next year we will have four classes of GCSE Food in Year 10 and three in Year 11.
We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher to join us on our journey to excellence. We would welcome applications from early career teachers or those with experience. If you are interested in taking advantage of this fantastic opportunity we look forward to receiving your application!
