We are looking to appoint an exceptional, enthusiastic, and qualified teacher to join the Art and Creative Technologies Department for our 4-19 free school.
Across the UK the need for people in Hospitality and catering is increasing. At Gildredge House we offer a GCSE Food Technology course which inspires our students and prepares them to consider the subject as a career pathway. The school is equipped with the necessary facilities to maximise pupil engagement.
The subject has received a very positive uptake from students and we look forward to the successful applicant helping us to continue to build the course together. The successful applicant will be prepared to play a full part as a team member in the development of the department.
Our ‘Good’ Ofsted judgement (November 2018) is a strong foundation on which to build and develop the school. The challenge is to sustain and further improve through every aspect of Gildredge House.

As Teacher of Food Technology, you will join an outstanding team of inspirational teachers, where you will ensure that our students enjoy and achieve highly in their learning. We ideally need a strong GCSE teacher as most of your teaching will be in Years 7 – 11. This is an exciting time to join our Outstanding Art and Creative Technologies Department with opportunities for professional development ranging from KS2 transition with Year 6 to supporting our Sixth Form students in choosing Food and or Food Science at University.
Within the Art and Creative Technologies Department, you will find a team who provide engaging, stimulating lessons to students of all abilities, and classrooms where rapport and relationships are given the highest priority. We plan with creativity and teach with enthusiasm, ensuring that every student reaches their full potential. We aim to help students develop resilience and confidence in the face of a challenging curriculum, not only to prepare them for demanding examinations but also to foster a lifelong love of learning.
