Teacher of Food Technology (part-time) job summary
Since its opening in 2003 as the second 11-19 school in the now six-strong Emmanuel Schools Foundation, The King’s Academy has made exceptional provision for students in Coulby Newham and the surrounding areas of south Middlesbrough. The vision of the Emmanuel Schools Foundation is to provide excellence in academic achievement for students of all abilities within a biblical Christian framework that allows for personal, spiritual, moral and social development. Provision is fully inclusive with a highly diverse intake, valuing all students and staff equally.
We require, on a part-time basis (0.5FTE), an enthusiastic graduate who is qualified to teach Food Technology at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. The ability to teach other Design and Technology subjects, and to teach to A level, is desirable but not essential. This post would suit an experienced or recently/newly qualified classroom teacher.
The Food Technology department is responsible for delivering a range of courses across the Key Stages. The department operates within an ‘arts carousel’ in Year 7-8 and delivers academic and vocational courses up to university entrance standard. Food is a popular subject at both Key Stages 4 and 5. The department comprises the Head of Department, one specialist teacher and one food technician. The technician provides extensive support to the teaching team and the students.
If you believe you have the vision and commitment to work in an Academy which seeks to raise achievement, setting consistently high standards for yourself, your team, and your students, please do contact us.
