Teacher of Food Technology job summary

Teacher of Food Technology

Full Time / Permanent

Main Pay Scale (Upper Pay Scale will be considered).

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join a growing and increasingly successful Creative Faculty delivering Design Technology to the young people of Catterick.

If you are an exceptional and inspirational Food Technology Teacher who would be able to add expertise to our team of teachers then we would love to hear from you. We are looking for a person with drive and personal ambition who will inspire and enthuse our students and instil in them a love for the subject and a desire to learn. The role will require an individual who is creative, not afraid to start from scratch with the ability to demonstrate resilience and experience of delivering innovative teaching methods to achieve improved academic outcomes.

At Risedale Sports and Community College, the Technology Department, as part of the Creative Faculty, is committed to excellence in teaching. We pride ourselves on putting the students at the centre of all we do, from creating an engaging, positive, welcoming environment to exploring cutting edge pedagogy.

The resources and rooms of the department are superb, having had a major re-fit just 3 years ago. A suite of rooms contains a 3D printer, office, new computer suite as well as a class set of sewing machines and a bright and welcoming food technology room.

At KS4 students can choose Design and Technology/Food Preparation and Nutrition. Students follow the AQA specification. At KS3 students follow a project-based approach with time spent on design technology, resistant materials and food technology.

We are looking to appoint a forward thinking, innovative and creative specialist. The successful candidate will be open to new ideas and committed to the philosophy of the school and ready to make Food Technology a popular and successful subject at both KS3 and KS4.
