Teacher of Food & Textiles job summary

TITLE:  Teacher of Food & Textiles

CONTRACT:  Permanent

RESPONSIBLE TO:  Executive Headteacher, via Head of Technology

Chantry Academy is a thriving and ambitious, Ofsted rated good academy located at the heart of our local community and is supported by parents and carers. In September 2023, we were oversubscribed for the seventh consecutive year, and we are proud to be first choice school for the local area.

We are seeking a committed Teacher of Food and Textiles, who can inspire and enthuse our students to achieve their potential in these subjects. You will be required to have a good subject knowledge to support children fully throughout KS3 and 4 . The successful candidate will be willing to go the extra mile for our students and will join a forward-thinking, well resourced, supportive and ambitious department dedicated to improving the life opportunities of our students beyond their education.

This position would suit an experienced professional or ECT (Early Careers Teacher), as we have established mentoring systems in place to support a teacher in the initial stages of their career.

If you share our vision and five core beliefs in all situations, we would like to hear from you. This is no ordinary role – we strive to attract extraordinary people.

We anticipate a strong field and reserve the right to move quickly for the right candidate.

In return we will offer you:

  • A thriving, innovative learning community, committed to excellence.

  • A supportive, welcoming community of professionals.

  • Extensive support and development opportunities.
