What skills and experience we're looking for

Teacher of French

Salary:Salary dependent upon experience

Language specialisms:We are looking for an enthusiastic and competent French practitioner who strives to deliver engaging and effective lessons that meet each learner's needs.

Specific Duties:

Teach French from KS3 to KS5 to mixed ability classes in various contexts.

• Ability to teach Spanish a plus up to KS3 but not essential .

Commit in providing accessible language learning for ALL students.

Able to contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of relevant and appropriate curriculum maps and sequenced programmes of study.

Confident in using assessment, tracking, and target setting tools to accurately monitor their learners' progress and adapt their Teaching and Learning strategies accordingly.

The Languages curriculum aims to give our students the opportunity to acquire new knowledge, skills and ways of thinking through the ability to understand and respond to a rich range of authentic spoken and written material including literary texts. We encourage our students to be enthusiastic, engaged and challenged by embracing the richness and the diversity of different cultures through research, conceptual understanding tasks, and trips abroad. The Languages team promote a love of language learning and strive to create an environment where students are encouraged to be confident and independent learners who are not afraid to communicate in a different language for education, employment and leisure in this country or throughout the world. In September 2023, The Skinners' Kent Academy was selected by the Department for Education to oversee one of its Language Hubs. Working in partnership with Dartford Grammar School , the Academy is one of only 19 schools in England to have been chosen. Under the Language Hub initiative, the Academy will take the lead in promoting language studies amongst students, spanning from Primary school to GCSEs. It will also be aiming to enhance language offerings within schools and ensure that all students aged 14 18 have the opportunity to pursue language studies through to Key Stage 5.
