What skills and experience we're looking for
We have an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of French and Japanese to join Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School from 1st September 2024. This is a permanent, full-time contract which is suitable for both ECTs and applicants with previous teaching experience. For the right candidate, there is also the possibility of a management responsibility within both the French and Japanese Departments.
We are happy to receive applications from teachers looking for a part-time permanent contract. Please ensure you state your preferred FTE on your application form. Early Careers Teachers are appointed on Point 2 of the Main Scale to provide some assistance with the costs of travelling.

What the school offers its staff
Our Languages Faculty consists of 11 passionate linguists, specialising in French, Spanish, Japanese and Mandarin. There are typically three GCSE groups for each of French and Spanish, as well as one group for each of Japanese and Mandarin. All four languages are offered in the sixth form to A Level. We are a large comprehensive school of 1525 students with 265 in the Sixth Form. KLB is a high performing school and sits at the heart of the local community with extensive links to the surrounding area. The school is within easy commuting distance of Bristol and Gloucester being just 10 minutes from Junction 14 of the M5. The school is part of the School Rebuilding Programme.
