Teacher of French job summary

 For September 2021, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented teacher of French to our successful and dynamic secondary team.  The successful candidate will not only be passionate about their subject, and have exceptional subject knowledge, but also have a passion and drive to deliver and engage students in their studying of both French from Key stage 2 to GCSE. The outstanding behaviour of our students truly gives you the opportunity to teach your subject and deliver exciting and engaging lessons.

Our main building, Thomas Hall, was built in the 1600s, with established woodland surrounding the main campus area. The building was part of Exeter University’s Duryard Halls of Residence for nearly 100 years before becoming a school. 
 
Avanti Hall is part of the growing family of Avanti schools. The key responsibilities laid out here are those, which will be assumed by the successful candidate upon appointment. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities 

In addition to the responsibilities of class teacher, as set out by the class teacher job description and the schoolteachers’ pay and conditions document, the holder of this post is expected to carry out the responsibilities as described below, as circumstances may require and in accordance with the school’s policies under the direction of the Principal. 
 

Main Purpose of the Job
 
Ø  Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class(es) ensuring equality of opportunity for all 
Ø  Be responsible and accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct 
Ø  In the spirit of the ethos of the Avanti Schools Trust, treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and at all times observing proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher’s professional position 
Ø  Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, parents/families, governors, other staff, the Avanti Schools Trust and external agencies in the best interests of pupils 
Ø  Act within, the statutory frameworks, which set out their professional duties and responsibilities and in line with the duties outlined in the current School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document and Teacher Standards 
Ø  Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
