The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of French to join our Modern Languages team at Parrs Wood High School on a maternity cover basis. You will deliver engaging and high-quality French lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 inspiring students to develop their linguistic skills and cultural understanding. The ability to teach Key Stage 3 Spanish is highly desirable and will help broaden our curriculum offer. Working within a supportive and collaborative faculty, you will plan and deliver lessons that challenge and motivate learners of all abilities, while fostering independence and confidence. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a thriving department during a fixed-term period.
What We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status and have excellent subject knowledge in French, with a strong understanding of effective language teaching strategies. Experience or willingness to teach Key Stage 3 Spanish is an advantage. You will demonstrate the ability to plan and deliver lessons that cater for diverse learning needs, use assessment to drive progress, and employ strategies that promote positive behaviour and engagement. Strong communication skills, good ICT competence, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential. Above all, we seek someone who is passionate about languages, committed to high-quality teaching, and eager to inspire students to achieve their full potential.
