Strood Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicatedTeacher of Frenchto join our dynamic Modern Foreign Languages department. We are looking for an innovative educator who is committed to fostering a love for languages and developing students’ skills in French across the Key Stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging French lessons that cater to a wide range of abilities.

  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in French.

  • Assess, track, and report on students’ progress to ensure high standards of achievement.

  • Contribute to the development of the MFL curriculum and participate in department meetings and initiatives.

  • Support and encourage students’ participation in extra-curricular activities related to language learning.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) with a specialism in French.

  • Have excellent subject knowledge and a passion for the French language and culture.

  • Be committed to promoting the importance of MFL and be enthusiastic about innovative teaching methods.

  • Be a team player with excellent communication skills, capable of working collaboratively within the MFL department.

  • Be dedicated to continuous professional development and personal growth.

  • Our commitment to the development of all staff - CPD on Wednesday afternoons and the opportunity to collaborate with staff from other schools in the LAT. Also, all staff at Strood receive regular coaching feedback through our online platform on-track.
  • Strood Academy is easily accessible by A2 and the high-speed train can allow for travel into London in less than 30 minutes.
  • We have a common sense approach to workload. All teachers are expected to feedback or live-mark. We also work closely as a Trust allowing for centralised resources to be shared across our secondary schools.

What the school offers its staff

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust:As of 1st September2024, our Trust comprises 33geographically organised academies (17secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating more than 24,000 students and employing 4,000 talented staff.
