What skills and experience we're looking for

We are delighted to be seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking teacher of French to join us in September 2023 and contribute to the ongoing developments of the MFL provision at our school; you need to be able to teach French in KS3 and KS4 and the ability to offer a second language to KS4 may be advantageous

What the school offers its staff

You will join a small but enthusiastic team of dedicated teachers in our journey to really put Languages on the map, and become a valued member of our team. You will enjoy teaching an interesting and motivating curriculum, with shared centralised resources and a collegiate working environment, where we thrive on collaboration and mutual support. Testwood school is a great place to work and develop as a teacher. It has a strong sense of community where the students are at the heart of what we do. You will have the opportunity to work with enthusiastic young people, to broaden their horizons by not only bringing the language alive in lessons, but also building up cultural capital and sharing insights from the world beyond Britain. You will have the ability and passion to support and enthuse students to enjoy their language learning journey and be able to motivate them to aspire to achieve their best. Applications are warmly welcomed from both experienced and Early Careers Teachers. We would love to work with an engaging, warm and committed individual who shares the values underpinning our motto, “Every child, every step, every day”. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an imaginative, inspiring and creative teacher to work in a supportive, energetic and innovative school where students achieve well and which is highly regarded in the local community. The school is located in the town of Totton, which is located close to the nearby city buzz of Southampton, the charm of the old city of Winchester and the idyllic outdoors of the New Forest, just a few minutes away. Transport links to London are excellent for those who like to explore further afield.

Commitment to safeguarding

Testwood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people and requires all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and other relevant pre-employment checks.
