TEACHER OF FRENCH job summary

TEACHER OF FRENCH— MPS / UPS

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Teacher of French to join our team of highly committed linguists. Candidates must have the ability to teach French at KS3, KS4, and A-Level. The ability to offer some German would be a bonus but not essential. Newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply and we offer a fully supported programme, including regular subject specific mentoring and whole school training. The successful candidate will be well-qualified and committed to ensuring excellent outcomes for every student.

MFL is taught as a core subject at KS3, and is currently optional at KS4. Students who choose a language do well at Wollaston, and both French and German are among the highest performing subjects at GCSE in the school. We currently offer both French and German at A-level and students achieve well in these subjects. The MFL team is comprised of 5 teachers, and is housed in a dedicated teaching area with its own Sanako language lab. This is a department where the right candidate would have the scope to develop their practice using the latest research and methodology in a supportive environment. Wollaston School is a large, rural community school located in a village setting about 15 minutes drive from Northampton.
