Due to the internal promotion of a member of staff Great Yarmouth Charter Academy is seeking an inspiring, innovative, and dedicated Teacher of Geography to join our team. We are looking for a teacher who shares our belief that all pupils have the right to succeed and have access to the very best education. This role may be suitable for a Geography or Biology specialist.

You will be part of a team that delivers a broad, balanced, and inclusive curriculum for students. You will be joining a subject that is highly popular with the pupils and a team that has achieved high results historically. Charter was rated as good by Ofsted in July 2019. They stated that there are high expectations of behaviour which leads to a calm, purposeful learning environment. We believe in outstanding behaviour, clear routines and supporting teachers to deliver subject content.

Over the last two rounds of pupil admissions at year 7 we are now oversubscribed with first choice pupils. Our job adverts are linked to this growth and our desire to support pupils from our community, as well as the introduction of our own sixth form that will work with the outstanding Sir Isaac Newton College in Norwich. The ability to teach or have the ambition to teach A Level Geography would be an advantage.

We are part of the Inspiration Trust, twice ranked as the country’s top family of comprehensive schools for pupil progress, and strongly believe in the importance of giving the widest educational opportunities to all young people, regardless of their background. We have strong networks across the Trust, with opportunities to work with a diverse range of schools and partners. We are committed to offering excellent professional and learning opportunities for our staff, with a busy programme of continuing professional development courses delivered by some of the country’s best educational thinkers and practitioners.
