We are committed to becoming one of the country's top-performing schools. Our entire staff share a common goal: giving every child the best possible chance of success. We are determined to prove that students in Swindon can achieve at the very highest levels.

We deliver on our promise of the best chance of success by ensuring that:

Students gain high value qualifications which will open as many doors for them in the future as possible
Students develop a real understanding of subject disciplines, learning knowledge and ways of thinking that take them beyond everyday understanding enabling them to better participate in our democratic society
Students get the opportunity to take part in many high-quality experiences – trips, visits, clubs and events which allow them to flourish outside the classroom, developing their character.

We place learning at the heart of everything that we do at Nova. Our expert teachers deliver a rich and ambitious academic curriculum in a calm, purposeful atmosphere. Our students work exceptional hard to develop a good understanding of the subject disciplines that we teach.

Beyond the classroom our house system, student leadership opportunities, and our enrichment programme, SuperNova, ensure that students have a wide range of opportunities to develop their character and to find and develop new passions, skills and interests.

At Nova every day we strive to create an atmosphere of joyful excellence where our students experience is characterised by both high standards and high levels of support. Where both fun and hard work are prioritised and where staff develop warm relationships with students whilst ensuring that standards of behaviour remain exemplary at all times.

Our values - Excellence, Hard Work and Kindness are at the heart of everything we do. The leadership team is dedicated not only to academic excellence and character development but also to ensuring that the workload for teachers is balanced, manageable, and well-considered.

How do we reduce workload for teachers?

High-quality, centralised curriculum resources
Live marking in lessons, so marking does not need to be taken home
A centralised behaviour management system
Visible and supportive senior leadership team (SLT)
Well-planned deadlines

These are just a few examples of how we’re making sure our teachers can focus on what matters most: delivering excellent lessons to our students.
