What skills and experience we're looking for

Longfield Academy is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Geography, joining us from January 2025.

This is a truly fantastic opportunity for a passionate Teacher of Geography to become part of an established, collaborative and successful Humanities team. You'll deliver engaging lessons that inspire students to explore and understand the world around them.

We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about their subject and committed to providing high-quality learning experiences.

We’d like to hear from you if you are:

  • An excellent teacher who is passionate about learning and has strong subject knowledge;
  • A keen advocate for the importance of geography education as part of the curriculum;
  • Have a high level of teaching experience and delivery of results, or are an Early Career Teacher (ECT)looking for their first position;
  • Collaborative, able to build strong professional relationships;
  • Able to motivate and inspire students and staff to achieve their full potential;
  • Energetic and have a ‘can-do’ attitude;
  • Confident, with strong career aspirations;
  • Committed to the safeguarding and happiness and wellbeing of everyone at the Academy.

The basis of this role is permanent and offering MPS commensurate with experience + London Fringe Allowance.
