When inspectors visited Bexleyheath Academy in July 2021, they said that the way in which pupils work in school has been "transformed", and that "there is a positive atmosphere in classes and around the school". Inspectors also said that the school "has completely changed" and have confirmed in their report that Bexleyheath Academy is officially a good school. Inspectors commented that the team at the Academy "set students consistently high standards" and that pupils are "polite, friendly and considerate". They said that the students "actively demonstrate the school value 'be big-hearted'." Inspectors also confirmed that "Pupils make strong progress in their subjects, particularly English and Mathematics."Bexleyheath has been on an incredible journey of improvement, from previously being in special measures to our current status as a good school and we have a fantastic team of friendly, happy staff in place who have worked hard to realise that transformation; students who are proud to be learning at the school and parents who firmly support the team here.As a school of choice within the local community, we are experiencing unprecedented growth in our student numbers.

What the school offers its staff

As a school of choice within the local community, we are experiencing unprecedented growth in our student numbers. As a result, we are actively seeking passionate and dedicated teachers across all departments who will join our team who work hard to ensure that our students go on to lead remarkable lives. We have students from all walks of life and will give each of them, no matter how difficult their start, access to every walk of life.In terms of the broader school, we recognise that teaching and leading is a demanding career and it is our aim to make sure that staff who have chosen to join the profession are as well supported as they can be. We have a zero tolerance approach to anything that interrupts the learning in a classroom and our central team deals with all behaviour issues, non-completion of homework, phone-calls and detentions to make sure that teachers are as free as possible to do the three things that matter most: mark, plan and teach. You will not be covering colleague's lessons or lunchtime or gate duties and you will have dedicated PPA time each week. At Bexleyheath, we prioritise our staff's mental health and fiercely protect that work / life balance. Due to our approach, we have excellent staff retention rates. We are currently accepting expressions of interest from Teachers of Science, Maths, English, Drama, ICT, Business Studies, Geography, Design Technology, Art, Media and Music. We are looking for passionate teachers who really enjoy teaching and we can be flexible on subject specialism for the right people. We warmly welcome visits to the school so you can see your relevant department in action and meet staff who you would be potentially working with from September.

Commitment to safeguarding

Academies Enterprise Trust and all of our academies are committed to ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils, and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We adopt a robust, fair and consistent recruitment process which is inline with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This includes online checks for shortlisted candidates. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check.
