This is an exciting opportunity to join our popular and expanding school in beautiful West Cornwall, committed to ensuring the highest quality of education for all our students. Ofsted (Short Inspection November 2016) judged the school as ‘good’ and stated, “Across the school we found that pupils were very keen to learn. Pupils we spoke with enjoy coming to school and feel that they are making good progress. Pupils are well-mannered and keen to tell visitors how good the school is and how it keeps them safe”.

A more recent visit in July 2022 by the LA education effectiveness team highlighted how staff create a positive atmosphere and inclusive ethos, leading to all students having a sense of belonging to the Humphry Davy Community.Situated in beautiful West Cornwall the school has a long-standing well-deserved reputation for its caring approach and an ethos which encourages, supports and develops students of all abilities – from those with specific learning difficulties right through to the most able, gifted and talented.

We have always ensured the standard of care has never fallen, whilst the standard of achievement has continued rising to the consistently high levels seen today. We do not believe the two are mutually exclusive; by focusing upon each and every individual’s needs to enable them to flourish, the climate for learning will be enhanced, the whole school community will grow and the outcomes will only ever continue upwards.
