What skills and experience we're looking for

We know that exceptional Geographypractitionersare in high demand which is why we are offering arecruitment and retention bonusof£2,000for the right candidate(£1,000 payable upon joining, and £1,000 payable after 1 year's service).

We are seeking a motivated, organised and effectiveTeacherof Geography (Humanities)with the ability and enthusiasm to deliver the subject.

Support will be provided for less practised teachers and the option to teach at KS5 will beconsidered for suitably skilled and proficient applicants.

The History and Geography teams are led by exceptionally experienced teachers with a wealth of resources and expertise to share.

The ideal candidate will:

  • be passionate about their subject(s) and be able to communicate the importance of thesubject with students.
  • be organised, efficient, reliable and strive to meet high standards and expectations.
  • be able to inspire students from a range of backgrounds and abilities and help them strive tobe better people.
  • be an excellent classroom practitioner and confident to deliver their subject(s).

What the school offers its staff

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust:As of 1st April 2024, our Trust comprises 32 geographically organised academies (16 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating more than 20,000 students and employing 3,000 talented staff.
