Salford City Academy have an exciting opportunity for a teacher of Geography. The successful candidate will be a hard-working and passionate teacher who is committed to enthusing in students a love of the subject of Geography. They will be able to plan and deliver outstanding lessons across both KS3 and KS4 that ensure students both enjoy and make good progress within the subject and leave school with strong geographical skills, knowledge and understanding.

Academic results at the academy have improved year on year and we were delighted to celebrate the schools ‘best’ results this summer achieving a progress 8 of +0.31, placing us in the top 24% of schools in the country and top of all northern United Learning schools. The academy enjoys state of the art facilities and has a committed, high quality teaching team which is focussed on engaging and motivating all students. The academy is now oversubscribed, and we are looking to for opportunities to recruit excellent candidates into our fantastic team.
The Geography Department is an extremely ambitious and high performing department, which resulted in the achievement of a positive Progress 8 score in Summer 2022. You will be joining an established department which is wholly committed to a research-informed approach to teaching, learning and assessment. You will reap the benefits of a purposefully sequenced curriculum and centralised departmental resources. The Geography Department is also hugely proud of its successful and hugely popular Duke of Edinburgh programme which the successful candidate will contribute to.
We enjoy state of the art facilities, designed to engage, and motivate learners. As an academy committed to professional development, all teaching staff will be expected to actively participate in CPD programmes. We work collaboratively, share good practice, and have a Trust-wide approach to development. We need to make sure we have the right people in the right place doing the job that is needed to build excellent provision for our children and young people.
