Teacher of Geography job summary
To know, share and embed the School Vision;
To raise standards of student attainment and achievement through monitoring and supporting student progress;
To be accountable for developing Geography and for student progress within Geography;
To develop and maintain the highest academic standards in line with Teaching, Learning and Assessment Policy;
To use and manage learning resources and equipment made available with the object of providing the most effective and efficient learning opportunities for the students having in mind the school’s ethos and aims and objectives;
To be a passionate champion of Geography and enjoy teaching

St Columba's Catholic Boys' School is a non-selective 11-16 Boys’ school in the London Borough of Bexley. As well as Catholics, we welcome those of other or no faith. Our vision says ‘Our school is an inclusive place of learning that celebrates and welcomes diversity. Every member of our community is a unique and special creation of God and is known, cared for and valued for the contribution they make. Every student is challenged and supported to achieve his best.’ Our Ofsted report from February 2019, which confirmed that we remained a Good school, highlights our ‘safe and welcoming community’ and notes that ‘warm and positive relationships are a strong feature of your school’. As well as the dedication to inclusivity we still push the academic side and we have Progress 8 scores well above the National Average for boys.
