What skills and experience we're looking for
St Paul’s Way Trust School is seeking to appoint a talented Teacher of Geography. The school is an outstanding ‘through school’ with a record of accomplishment and innovation. Drawing extensively on academic research the school provides a unique curriculum experience. Our award-winning new building is situated in the heart of East London. This is an exciting career opportunity for a colleague who is passionate about the entitlement of young people to an inspiring Geography education. Working within a vibrant and highly successful Humanities faculty, you will be an outstanding classroom teacher with a commitment to the progress of all students in our heavily oversubscribed school.
The successful candidate will have an unwavering belief in the potential of every student and support them in achieving their aspirations. (S)he will inspire curiosity and interest for the subject which motivates students. The successful candidate will teach Geography at all Key Stages.
Our exceptional links with QMUL, King’s College London, The University of Warwick, The UCL Institute of Education and the University of East London help shape an inspirational Humanities curriculum.
We have high expectations of all students to be taught the best powerful knowledge as defined by the subject community. We believe all teaching should be evidence informed so teachers can focus on high impact methods in their practice with sensible implications on workload. Planning of lessons are based on principles derived from cognitive science and distributed through the department to drive collaboration. The department delivers CPD fortnightly that focuses on improving our subject and pedagogical knowledge.
