Teacher of Geography job summary

The newly appointed candidate will be working in a committed and successful team which regularly achieves some of the strongest academic results in the school at both GCSE (OCR B) and A Level (OCR). At Key Stage Three the curriculum has been designed to build key knowledge but allow opportunities for group work, decision making, model building and presentations! As such we wish to appoint a creative teacher with a passion for the subject.

The team deeply believe that learning in Geography does not stop in the classroom. Students are afforded a range of enrichment opportunities including presenting at Micro-Lectures and joining groups such as our Eco-Club. Fieldwork plays a particularly strong role in learning. Last year alone students completed an amazing range of trips from local studies to the farm, zoo. Hunstanton, Cambridge and river through to residential trips in this country (Cranedale) and abroad (Iceland).

This post would suit an application from an early career teacher who would benefit enormously from strong mentoring, or alternatively from an experienced teacher who is looking to develop their skills in a new setting. The successful candidate will need to be able to teach across all age ranges and abilities up to and including A Level. The ability to teach another subject is always desirable but not essential.
