Teacher of Geography job summary

Robert Smyth Academy is looking for a dynamic teacher of Geography with a genuine passion for the subject to teach our students up to GCSE/A Level. The vacancy is for one day a week (preferably Friday for 2026 but with some flexibility)

The successful applicant will need to be up to date in terms of subject knowledge and pedagogical techniques as well as ensuring that the department functions effectively as a team.

The faculty places emphasis on high quality teaching and learning and encourages participation in the continued review of curriculum and assessment.

We pride ourselves on excellent student behaviour and our strong ethos of inclusion with ambition for all; We put students at the centre of what we do.

Robert Smyth is in the leafy town of Market Harborough, south of Leicester which has seen considerable growth lately. The school is expanding and looking froward to the opening of an additional Science and Maths block with a new canteen in January 2026. Our reputation has meant that we have been oversubscribed for the past few years and this is down to the dedication of our staff.
