What skills and experience we're looking for

Full Time - 1.0 FTE -For September 2025

Judged to be ‘Outstanding’ in the recent OFSTED inspection, November 2022, Kendrick School is a high achieving selective school for girls aged 11 to 18 with students who are engaging, cooperative and eager to learn.

The recent Ofsted report, November 2022 stated: “Pupils’ behaviour is exemplary both in lessons and around the school. They respect and exemplify the values within the school pledge. Pupils love being here. Attendance is high, pupils are punctual, and lessons are free from any low-level disruption”

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, innovative and well qualified Geography Teacher who can also teach Business. Applicants need to be able to teach Geography at KS3, GCSE and A Level (0.7FTE) and Business (0.3 FTE) at GCSE. The ability to teach Economics at A level would be an advantage.

This position would suit either an experienced practitioner or an early careers teacher. The successful candidate needs to demonstrate passion for their subject, be enthusiastic, hard-working and committed to the values of the school with empathy and understanding of students’ learning needs.

Geography, Economics and Business are popular subjects which enjoy a high profile within the school with large numbers of students choosing to continue their studies at GCSE and A Level.

Kendrick School is a welcoming, inclusive and happy community, with students who are engaging, cooperative and eager to learn. Benefits include free car parking, a contributory pension scheme, training and development and use of the swimming pool and sporting facilities.

We can offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for the right applicant. Please note that English schools require teachers with qualities beyond academic excellence and subject knowledge, for example:

  • the ability to offer pastoral care
  • an appreciation of the ethos of our school
  • communication skills
  • willingness to participate in the extra-curricular life of the school
