Clarendon Academy is seeking to appoint a highly skilled practitioner to teach Geography. This is an outstanding opportunity for an NQT or experienced teacher, with QTS status, to join our Geography Faculty.
The ability to support the PE department with some teaching of PE is desirable.
Clarendon Academy is an exciting place to work. We are a thriving co-educational 11-18 comprehensive academy within the Acorn Education Trust. We are based in the large town of Trowbridge, in easy commuter distance from Bath. We pride ourselves on being a centre of excellence and a place where young, enthusiastic children enter in Year 7 and leave us at the end of Year 13 as fully rounded young adults.
Geography is one of the most popular option subjects, with approximately 4 GCSE classes across each cohort. We teach an exciting and engaging curriculum across the key stages with specifics detailed below. We currently offer fieldwork opportunities to students in Lyme Regis, Swanage, Chesil Beach, Studland Bay, Bath and Stratford. The Geography department takes great pride in its strong record of results with consistently good Progress 8 scores. Our most recent results at KS4 had an overall progress score of +0.42 and we were in the top 20% nationally for KS5 progress. The Geography Department are in a strong position and seek a leading member of staff to augment this.
