What skills and experience we're looking for

In selecting candidates for interview and eventual selection, the school will be looking for teachers with relevant education, experience, job-related knowledge, aptitudes, and skills, and many of the personal qualities listed below. The school welcomes applications from teachers who consider they could meet most, if not all, the requirements listed.

What the school offers its staff

Languages are an important part of the Ashcombe curriculum. We believe all students should have the opportunity to study two languages and most students continue to study at least one language to GCSE. Students enjoy their language lessons and value the opportunities given to them. Our two main languages are French and German, and we continue to look at ways increase our Spanish offering in all key stages. We have French, German and Spanish A level classes in our thriving Sixth Form.

The school is keen to develop still further the academic successes which have been gained by the students right across the ability range, including several going on to study Modern Languages at degree level at Oxbridge and other universities.
