Teacher of Girls' PE job summary

The PE Department is a cohesive, established and driven team, which welcomes new thinking. We have a well-developed curriculum at KS3 and KS4, with fully resourced schemes of work led by a shared ethos, which is oriented around consistent assessment goals. We are a department in which continuing professional development is valued greatly. We seek to ensure that all learners are supported in personalised and differentiated ways, and that PE is an accessible and enjoyable subject for all. We welcome applications from experienced colleagues and ECTs.

Our successful candidate will be:

  • thoroughly committed to enabling all students to reach their potential;
  • a creative teacher who places high value on their own professional development;
  • motivated, resilient and flexible;
  • a team player;
  • committed to achieving a work-life balance and maintaining their own interests outside teaching.

We will offer our successful candidate a school which:

  • exists to serve its students and both support and challenge its staff;
  • focuses relentlessly on improving teaching and learning in order to raise standards;
  • enjoys positive relationships between staff and students;
  • knows every individual student well because of its size;
  • enjoys a tradition of success and is excited about its future.

In March 2019, Ofsted graded the school as ‘Good’ once again. The HMI Lead Inspector confirmed ‘The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection.’ The report also described the Headteacher as ‘…an outward-looking, dynamic and thoughtful leader’ who has ‘instigated a number of far-reaching and successful changes over the last few years.’ We believe that our Ofsted report describes the school accurately and are pleased with the comments in it.
