Teacher of Girls PE job summary
Essa Academy’s Faculty of Health are seeking to recruit a dynamic and passionate teacher of girls PE for a 1-year contract, with the possibility of a permanent contract in the future.
Planning within the PE curriculum is shared. This allows us to deliver an enriching and engaging curriculum with resources to support a range of abilities and learners. The Academy offers all teaching staff 20% PPA which allows our Team to help progress our Faculty forwards at a rapid pace, using time to joint plan and run our own internal professional development.
At Essa Academy, the Health Faculty is comprised of both PE and Food. This offers the successful candidate the opportunity to thrive in a unique Faculty that works in unison in order to develop well-rounded students through a holistic Health curriculum. The Faculty consists of eight teachers and a Health Technician. As a team of committed and forward-thinking practitioners, we are dedicated to creating a love for learning amongst our students. Therefore, the successful candidate will be a passionate and inspirational teacher with a desire to build independence and resilience in their students whilst ensuring high quality teaching and learning is at the forefront.
The future of the Health Faculty at Essa is bright. PE is a core subject for all students in the school and over a 2-week timetable, all of our students from Year 7-11 engage in high-quality PE lessons. Our aim is that our students understand how to lead healthy and active lifestyles in order to take care of themselves. We are passionate that our students find a lifelong love for sport and exercise.
The successful candidate will be passionate about PE and keen to share their love for sport, exercise and healthy living with our students. They will have a sound knowledge of GCSE PE and Cambridge National or will be prepared to learn the specification. This is a superb opportunity for the right candidate to join our successful Health team for a year with the possibility of this becoming a permanent position in the future.
