What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, creative and ambitious individual to join a strong and vibrant PE department. We want to hear from you if you are a Teacher of PE, or an ECT aspiring to be such a teacher.
PE is a high-profile department, both within the school and the wider community. Ideally you will be able to teach core PE, GCSE and possibly have experience in BTEC and A’ Level PE courses. The ability to teach a second subject would be an advantage.
What the school offers its staff
You will join and be supported by a successful department with good outcomes, both in examination results and at competition level.
The successful candidate will be someone with a passion for their subject, who has excellent subject knowledge and who will inspire and engage our students across all Key Stages. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate they are an Outstanding Teacher (for ECT’s aspiring to be) with the ability to make a broader contribution to the life of our school and our extra-curricular clubs.
At The Bicester School we pride ourselves on having successfully created an ethos that is nurturing, but challenging, and fully inclusive to all staff and students. We are fortunate to be located in a rural part of North Oxfordshire with excellent transport links.
To apply for this position please complete the application form listed in the Recruitment Information Pack on the Current Vacancies page.
Further details about the role
We undertake social media checks on all shortlisted candidates in accordance with DFE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022’.
Commitment to safeguarding
Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
The Bicester School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We undertake social media checks on all shortlisted candidates in accordance with DFE statutory guidance ‘KCSIE 2023’.
