Teacher of Girls' Physical Education - Maternity Cover job summary

The Faculty comprises of Physical Education, Expressive Arts and Music. Associate Heads of Faculty oversee each of the principal subject areas and there is an enthusiastic and committed team of 20 teachers together with a Curriculum Associate to support the faculty with administrative tasks and student support.

There are currently 9 full time teachers in the PE Department in addition to an Extended Learning Co-ordinator and Curriculum Associate. GCSE PE is a popular subject at Year 11, currently we have 3 sets. We also have a thriving sports leadership course in the Sixth Form, currently numbering 6 groups in Years 12 and 13. The work of the leaders is recognised and valued across all aspects of the school. The Faculty is extremely supportive and will suit a teacher who is looking to work collaboratively with professionals who care about their subject, their students and the school.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic NQT or an experienced teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning. Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to the subject are essential. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an imaginative, creative and inspiring teacher to work in a supportive and energetic school where students are making significant and sustained progress.
