What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, highly motivated and specialist teacher of Health and Social Care to support our vision to transform the lives of young people in North Sheffield.
We are looking for someone who:
- is an inspirational teacher with a strong occupational background
- has the ambition to develop their career through additionalsubject leader responsibilities.
- can work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the success of the department and the sixth form on our journey to ‘Outstanding’.
- can use their expertise and industry experience to deliver a high quality curriculum
- can develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours of our learners in readiness for their next steps into higher education, training and employment
- has a proven track record of achieving good or outstanding results, though we also welcome applications from ECTs.
Health and Social care is an extremely popular subject within our vocational offer, with high proportions of learners progressing from Level 2 to Level 3 and beyond into higher education and related health careers.
As a subject leader, you will oversee and lead the delivery of health and social care and the early years qualifications, supported closely by a curriculum leader, to ensure that all students are making progress. Core elements to this role are to support teachers in the development of high quality and comprehensive programmes of study, support internal verification/ moderation activities for a cluster of courses and to support the coordination of subject events such as liaison activities, employability, extra-curricular and trips and visits.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the 16-19 setting of a 2-19 multi-academy trust which is committed to raising academic standards and attainment. You will be provided with a programme of professional development that will enable you to continue to develop your craft in a sixth form that is highly focused on staff wellbeing.
