Job summary

Thank you for expressing an interest in the post of Teacher of Health and Social Care.

High quality teaching and learning is one of our priorities which leads to outstanding results. Our outcomes for GCSEs are outstanding with a year on year upward P8 trajectory, placing us in the top 3% nationally for progress. Our thriving Sixth Form, which is in the top 12% of schools for A-Level results, offers both A-Level and Vocational pathways and we boast an excellent success rate in University applications.

Our students are keen to learn and are a real pleasure to teach. Due to the growth of our KS3 and KS5 curriculum, we are looking to recruit a full time Health and Social Care Teacher to teach across both KS4 and KS5. We have a range of departmental initiatives which provide opportunities for the right candidate to cultivate their creative capabilities. This is a really exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and looking to develop their own skills in this area.

The successful candidate will be expected to:
• have QTS and a degree or a similar related Health and Social Care related qualification
• possess recent experience of teaching Health and Social Care or a closely related subject to students in KS3-KS5
• knowledge of the National Curriculum for BTEC Health and Social Care at Level 2 and 3
• be an innovative and reflective practitioner who is keen to learn
• have the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of pupils
• have an interest in and commitment to working with, supporting the development of, and safeguarding children

About Copthall School

Copthall School prides itself on educating 21st century women for successful careers in STEM, human, social and health sciences, performing arts and creative industries. We have approximately 1000 students on role, 120 of which are enrolled in our thriving Sixth Form which is in the top 12% of schools for A Level results.
