We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of History with excellent subject knowledge. The successful candidate will join the school’s highly successful and enthusiastic department, working and collaborating with an exceptionally dedicated and talented team of practitioners.

The History department is a vibrant department with very committed and passionate staff. They are enthusiastic about creating historians of the future. The department has a high take up at GCSE and A-Level, with many going on to study History at University. A rich curriculum has been developed, from Medieval times to 2000 Britain in Key Stage 3, whilst Key Stage 4 focuses on Crime and Punishment, Early Elizabethan England, British America and USA 1954-75. At KS5, there is a focus on Medieval History as well the Witchcraze in Europe and the Civil Rights Movement.

  • An excellent classroom practitioner

  • Somebody who is well-organised, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Somebody who works well with staff and pupils alike
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Knowledge of History at KS3, 4 and 5
  • Someone keen to make a difference to the lives of young people
  • Someone looking to join a community that works to develop young people into successful citizens
  • Someone ready to work with young people both in lessons and as a tutor
