Full Time, Permanent - Required for September 2019

Essential educational requirements

Undergraduate honours degree in History or related subject

Essential qualifications

Professional teaching qualification, Qualified Teacher Status

Essential skills and experience

Displays commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people, awareness of current national legislation for safeguarding

Experience of teaching at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

An understanding of national curriculum, KS3 and KS4 GCSE History

A developmental / creative mind – a good team contributor with a willingness to be involved in curriculum innovation

A clear passion for History

An ability to deliver a curriculum designed to engage all students

An outstanding teaching practitioner

An ability to demonstrate a versatile approach to teaching strategies

A working knowledge of ICT and how it can be used to analyse and track attainment

A sensitivity to pupils’ needs and a commitment to pastoral tutoring

An interest in the broader education of students through extra-curricular enrichment activities

Strong interpersonal skills – a high standard of written and spoken English
