What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Teacher of History/Politics with experience teaching across Key Stages 3 to 5 to join our dedicated faculty. While there will be some teaching at KS3 and KS4 levels, a significant portion of the timetable will be dedicated to KS5, making experience in this area essential. In this role, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students in the rich tapestry of historical events and political landscapes, fostering critical thinking skills and a deep understanding of the world around them.
Principal Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in history and politics across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring that all students are supported and challenged to achieve their full potential.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued and empowered to explore complex historical and political concepts.
- Utilise a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to enhance student learning and cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student progress and attainment through a range of formative and summative methods, providing timely and constructive feedback to support student growth and achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the history and politics curriculum, participating in departmental meetings and contributing to cross-curricular initiatives and enrichment activities.
