Teacher of Humanities (History/RE) job summary
Teaching is the most rewarding job in the world. We have the opportunity to change students’ lives for the better and you could make a positive impact at St Peter’s School.
We are currently seeking to employ a dynamic and inspiring Teacher of Humanities to join our team in motivating and supporting our students. This role will consist of KS3 RE and KS3 History, with the opportunity to teach KS4/5 History for a suitable candidate. Humanities is a popular faculty within the school and all students at KS4 choose a Humanities option from History, Ancient History and Geography.
RE is currently taught in KS3 through the curriculum, and on a personal development carousel at KS4, with our aim for RE to be offered as a GCSE subject in the future.
This is an exciting time within the Humanities department, particularly in terms of the development of the RE provision. For candidates who can offer History, there will be opportunities to teach across the age and ability range for the right candidate, with History currently being the most popular GCSE option choice within Humanities.
The Humanities Department is an innovative, experienced and collaborative team who strive to guide our students towards their goals. You will be joining a well-organised, supportive team of professionals. The department is well resourced, and staff are committed and hard-working. You will receive high quality support and CPD from expert colleagues who will coach and guide you through your professional development. This is an ideal opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive environment.
