What skills and experience we're looking for
Skegness Grammar School is looking for a Teacher of Humanities to implement and deliver a knowledge rich curriculum and support the overall progress and development of our students. You will facilitate and encourage an engaging learning experience which provides students the opportunity to achieve their full potential. You will have the opportunity to deliver a curriculum which has been developed with subject experts and which is rooted in academic rigour to students who are keen to learn. The teacher is the expert in the classroom and a centralised behaviour system will support you in ensuring a calm and purposeful learning environment. Ofsted noted that “Pupils are polite and courteous to each other and adults. They know how to behave well and understand why good behaviour is important. They conduct themselves very well in lessons and during social times. Low-level disruption in lessons is not tolerated, allowing pupils to focus on their learning.”
You will be working in the well-established and friendly humanities team who have experience in supporting ITT, NQT and ECTs. Enrichment opportunities are also a key part of our offer as a faculty including past trips to Parliament, the Battlefields of The First World War and Geography fieldwork trips around the UK. We are enthusiastic about grounding our teaching in research and rowing together to ensure that our students have an outstanding educational experience.
