Teacher of Humanities job summary
Teacher of Humanities
At Southfield School, we are passionate about empowerment. In fact, it is central to everything we do to remove barriers, level the playing field, and open up a world of opportunities for our brilliant students, staff and communities.
We are seeking an inspirational and highly motivated and innovative Teacher of Humanities to join our welcoming Humanities Team, and help drive forward further developments in the curriculum, while at the same time being a central part of empowerment of students, giving access to a breadth of inclusive educational and enrichment experiences. The successful candidate will be able to teach a combination of History, Geography and RE at KS3 and a specialism at KS4. Whilst a geography specialism is preferred, we would consider any specialism for the right candidate.
This successful department is committed to stimulating students’ interest and enjoyment in their studies in addition to producing good examination results. Students’ progress in all three subjects is very good.
The school was accredited as World Class in July 2021 and as such, we are committed to providing a world-class education for every student through a well-designed and balanced curriculum. Our established culture provides a calm, safe and stimulating learning environment.
We place significant emphasis on working collegiately as a staff to share our expertise and subsequently enhance the learning experience through innovation and reflection. Professional Learning at Southfield has been accredited as an Area of Excellence, receiving national acclaim. Every member of the staff is involved in a variety of weekly professional learning initiatives with a core focus on educational research. We have a key focus on wellbeing with teaching staff allocated planning off-site time and a wide-range of further initiatives and opportunities taking place across the year.
We believe that our school provides something unique and the perfect environment in which both staff and students have opportunities to flourish and grow.
