Teacher of IT & Computing job summary
We are looking to appoint a permanent Teacher of ICT and Computing for September 2019. We are seeking someone who will be ambitious for our students, has a vision for the development of ICT and Business Studies in our curriculum. The challenge for the successful applicants will be to contribute to developing further an already strong subject and continue to raise standards at both KS3 and GCSE.
The ICT and Computing department is part of the Foundation Faculty. The department benefits from an inspirational team of teachers who ensure high standards and maintain clear communication across campuses. Both the Faculty leader and the Assistant Faculty Leader are subject specialists and therefore leadership within the department is strong. They work with the team to drive up progress and achievement of all. This new post exists as the subject area continues to grow, with all students across both campuses studying ICT and Computing at Key Stage 3 and 4. The department also offers Business and Economics at Key Stage 4.
In Key Stage 3, all students study Computing. A wide range of topics are covered in these lessons to give students a real working knowledge and passion for technology and to build a platform for them to take forward. In Key Stage 4, all students study a vocational ICT qualification (currently the Cambridge Nationals iMedia course). In addition to this, GCSE Computer Science is offered as an option subject.
This role would be suitable to either an NQT or an experienced teacher.
